CHRISTINA-SYLVIA SIMANTIRA

Christina-Sylvia Simantira is a Greek-German visual artist who lives and works in Athens. In the period 2005-2010 she studied German Language and Literature at the National University of Athens and attended at the same time sketching classes held by the sculptor K.Argyris.
In the year 2010 she entered the Painting Department of the Athens School of Fine Arts, where she developed her personal work in the studio of the Professors A. Antonopoulos and M.Merampeliotis (earlier: Z. Arvanitis and D.Mylars).
During her studies she attended also the Sculpture and Ceramics classes, studied with an exchange-program-scholarship for one semester at the School of Fine Arts in Berlin-Weißensee and participated in many exhibitions and art projects in Greece and Germany.
In June 2016 she presented her work in the Thesis Exhibition and got her degree with the grade “excellent”. In January 2019 she was awarded the art-prize from the Rosa Luxemburg -Institute and “The nephrology center of Athens”.

Since 2019 she has taught Fine Arts in the German School of Athens and since October 2022 she has attended the MFA-programme of the Athens School of Fine Arts.
